DePaul falls to Louisville 79-58

DePaul lost to Louisville Wednesday night, losing 79-58 at the All State Arena. Despite only being down nine points at halftime, DePaul once again struggled in the second half. DePaul shot 35.9% from the field, compared to 46.4% for Louisville. Junior guard Brandon Young led DePaul with 22 points and 6 assists. Cleveland Melvin added 20 points, as Melvin and Young combined to scored 42 of DePaul's 58 points.

DePaul shot 35.9% from the field, and Louisville shot 46.4% from the field. That was the difference in the game. Another stat that decided the outcome of the game was Louisville's dominance on the glass. Louisville outrebounded DePaul 46-33.
Melvin and Young combined to score 42 of DePaul's 58 points. No other Blue Demon scored in double-digits. The next highest scorer for DePaul was Worrel Clahar, who scored six points. DePaul's supporting cast failed to provide other legitimate scoring options for the Blue Demons. Every other Blue Demon combined to shoot 24% from the field.

Jahlil Okafor, the #1 player in the Rivals 150 2014 class, was at the game tonight. The junior center from Whitney Young was joined by fellow junior and #4 player Cliff Alexander from Curie in Chicago. Both players have scholarship offers from DePaul, among many others around the country.
