The Demons Den Takes a Look at Dar and the Draft

Blake Griffin, Hasheem Thabeet, Jordan Hill,… Dar Tucker? That's right, the DePaul sophomore has decided to enter the 2009 NBA draft and is hoping for the best, even though the best may have him playing outside the NBA. He has been without a doubt, the biggest scoring threat for the Demons over the past two years, but has yet to prove an uncanny knack for taking over ball games.

Tucker's decision comes on the heels of a horrid season which saw the Demons go 9-24. Dar led the team in scoring but was sixth on his own team in FG%, including 28% from beyond the arc. This is the statistic glaring at NBA scouts and hindering him from jumping into the early first-round/late second round of the draft. The current consensus has Dar either touching the late second round or left in the dust, but as is the case in the NBA, Tucker's potential alone could propel him up the boards. His ability to impress teams at camps and practices over the next few weeks will be huge in determining if his decision pays off.

The demons den had a chance to ask a few questions to Dar, here is what he had to say.

A simple question - Where would you love to ultimately end up in the NBA?

A simple answer – "The Lakers"

I have to say that if I were to go into the NBA, I would probably choose the Lakers as well, but enough about me.

When asked about where he sees the team in the future, Dar responded, "I think they (the demons) will be fine because they still have good players on the team. So I believe that it will be a good season next year."

Even with Dar's words of encouragement, losing their top scorer will be tough for the Blue Demons. Jerry Wainwright must act quickly to restructure his team, making sure the adverse effects of this departure do not lag as they did with Wilson Chandler.
