Citrus Community College forward Greg Sequele verbally committed to DePaul late Thursday night. Sequele joins Billy Garrett Jr. and Forrest Robinson in DePaul's 2013 recruiting class. He also joins Robinson as the second junior college commit for DePaul. The 6 foot 8 Sequele visited DePaul and Kansas State this past weekend on official visits, and ultimately chose the Blue Demons over Kansas State.

Sequele originally signed with Washington State out of Ribet Academy in 2011, but didn't qualify academically. He went the juco route, playing his freshman year at the College of Southern Idaho. The team went 31-5, but Sequele played sparingly. He appeared in 21 games, averaging 2.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8.1 minutes per game. Following the year, Sequele decided to transfer Citrus Community College.

Sequele transferred to Citrus because he felt it was a better fit for him. William Middlebrooks, his coach of two years at Ribet Academy, shed light on what DePaul is getting in Sequele. "He's a great rebounder, has great energy," Middlebrooks said. "He's long, really causes problems because of his athleticism. He can guard the perimeter really well too." Sequele earned the reputation of being a high flyer in high school, but Middlebrooks says he's worked hard to diversify his offensive arsenal.

"He can shoot much better now, from midrange and from three, compared to when I coached him at Ribet," Middlebrooks said. Middlebrooks also stressed that he needs to continue to add to his game, so he can play small forward for DePaul. Specifically, there are two areas Middlebrooks feels Sequele needs to improve upon most: ball handling and free throw shooting.

Middlebrooks thinks Sequele and DePaul are a great match, because of the up-tempo approach head coach Oliver Purnell employs. "I really think it's a nice fit," Middlebrooks said. "It's the type of offense that Greg can really excel in, because of his elite athleticism."

Sequele plays his first game of the season tonight, as the Owls take on El Camino.
